This fantastic looking GT has recently arrived to us from its original home on the Isle of Mann where the car was delivered new back in 1970. Since arriving with us the car has been the subject of a very sympathetic refurbishment which has included a new complete interior trim of seat covers, carpets, roof lining, full interior trim kit and then finished off with a Black Leather steering wheel to complete the look.
The bodywork, under the ownership of the previous keeper was the subject of complete strip down and respray in the original factory colour scheme and when it arrived with us we have had the paint work professionally detailed before replacing a substantial amount of the chrome work with either new where available or exceptionally good replacement parts where not. The final result is a car that presents exceptionally well and will be a real head turner for the new owner.
Under the bonnet sits the 1.8 4 cylinder lead free engine which has excellent hot and cold oil pressures and easily starts with minimal choke being needed. Prior to the refurbishment we have had the car inspected and serviced with the benefit of a new centre and rear sections of the stainless steel exhaust. Power from the spritely engine is delivered through a 4 speed manual gearbox. To finish the look of this great condition British sports car is there anything nicer than it being fitted with a set of Wire Wheels which have been refurbished and match the excellent condition of the whole car. In the office we have a large history file that confirms the car has always lived on the Island and although we cannot guarantee the mileage, because of the car’s age, we are confident that bearing in mind the island size and history, it probably is reading correctly.
