1975 MGB GT V8 with Overdrive

First registered on 2nd April 1975, this genuine MGB GT V8 is a very good example with low mileage, well sorted and well cared for bodily and mechanically. The engine was professionally uprated some years ago to include an upgraded camshaft, tubular manifolds, K & N air filters and stainless steel exhaust, all providing an additional 15BHP according to the owner who had the work carried out. The suspension, again, has been upgraded, with coil over telescopics at the front and telescopics to the rear, making for superb road holding. Braking has been improved with four pot calipers to the front. A new clutch was installed around 6,000 miles ago. Fitted with electronic ignition, this car starts instantly and soon warms up to a good tick-over and as expected, provides an exhilirating drive with rapid performance. In fact, this is one of the quickest V8s I have ever driven. The wheels that have been fitted are original Minilites (ie not copies) and are like new – the original V8 alloys wheels come with the car. The gearbox is smooth and Overdrive is fitted on fourth gear. The Webasto sunroof, which was probably supplied by the dealer from new, works well and is great for sunny days. The interior, which we think is all original, is in good order. Having had only four owners from new and having been laid up for many years before its recommissioning, the car has covered only 63,500 miles. The original bonnet comes with the car, together with a very large history file, including details and photographs of restoration work, old invoices, and old MOT certificates and MOT to 17th February 2026, no advisories noted.
